Description
CDW-22A Leaf Wetness Sensor
CDW-22A Leaf Wetness Sensor probe is key for leaf wetness study, pest/disease prevention, and sprinkler control. It measures leaf surface moisture for trace moisture/ice residue. Sensor shaped like blade for accurate leaf surface reflection. Measures dielectric constant variation on blade to detect mist, vapor, and ice.

Application
Agricultural planting field:
◉In greenhouse planting, leaf temperature and humidity sensors play a key role. For example, for vegetable cultivation, the temperature and humidity on the leaf surface directly affect the photosynthesis, respiration and transpiration of vegetables. The sensor can accurately measure the temperature and humidity of the leaf surface. When the temperature of the leaf surface is too high, the stomata of the leaf may be closed, affecting the absorption of carbon dioxide, and thus reducing the efficiency of photosynthesis.
◉The leaf temperature and humidity sensor provides the basis for precise irrigation. Traditional irrigation methods can cause the leaf surface to be too wet or too dry. Through sensor monitoring, when the humidity of the leaf surface is below a certain level, the irrigation system can be started, and the water amount and time of sprinkler irrigation can be accurately controlled to avoid waste of water resources.
Plant physiology research:
◉Scientists can use leaf temperature and humidity sensors to study the physiological mechanisms of plants. For example, leaf temperature and humidity are key parameters when studying transpiration in plants.
◉In field ecosystem studies, leaf surface temperature and humidity sensors help to understand the interactions between plants and their environment. For example, in forest ecosystems, there are differences in leaf temperature and humidity of trees at different levels, and these differences will affect the competitive relationship and niche differentiation among trees. By installing sensors on the leaves of different tree species to monitor their temperature and humidity changes, it is possible to study the structure and function of plant communities, as well as the law of energy flow and material circulation in the ecosystem.
