Description

CDW-22A Leaf Wetness Sensor

The CDW-22A Leaf Wetness Sensor probe is key for studying leaf wetness. It helps stop pests and diseases. It also controls the sprinklers. This sensor checks moisture on leaf surfaces and finds any ice left behind.

It is shaped like a blade to show the leaf surface correctly. The sensor measures changes in the dielectric constant to find mist, vapor, and ice.

Leaf Wetness Sensor

Application

Agricultural planting field:

◉In greenhouse planting, leaf temperature and humidity sensors play a key role. For example, in vegetable farming, the temperature and humidity on the leaves affect photosynthesis, respiration, and transpiration.

The sensor can accurately measure the temperature and humidity of the leaf surface. When the leaf surface gets too hot, the stomata may close. This impacts how the leaf takes in carbon dioxide. As a result, photosynthesis becomes less efficient.

◉The leaf temperature and humidity sensor helps with accurate irrigation. Traditional methods can make the leaf surface too wet or too dry.

By using sensors, we can monitor the leaf surface humidity. When it drops below a certain level, the irrigation system can start. This helps us manage how much water we use and when the sprinklers run. This way, we can save water.

Plant physiology research:

◉Scientists can use sensors to measure leaf temperature and humidity. These measurements help them study how plants work. For example, leaf temperature and humidity are important when looking at transpiration in plants.

◉In studies of ecosystems, sensors check the temperature and humidity of leaves. These sensors help us learn how plants interact with their surroundings. In forests, leaf temperature and humidity change among trees that are at different heights.

These differences can change how trees compete and what roles they play in the ecosystem. By placing sensors on the leaves of various tree species, we can track changes in temperature and humidity. This helps us learn about plant communities. It also shows how energy and materials move in the ecosystem.
