Description

CDW-1T0 Visibility Sensor

The react visibility sensor uses a special design for forward scatter measurement. This ensures the output is accurate and reliable in any weather.

The forward scatter measurement method and its special design help us get accurate and reliable results. This works in any weather.

It is not affected by local light sources, even if they flash. We have a measurement range from 10m to 10km. We design the sensor for use in roads and aviation.

It is made from strong aluminum and has a high-quality powder coat. This means it will last for many years. We heat the optical windows and sensor hoods as a standard practice.

This allows them to work in the toughest conditions. We check both optical windows for dirt. We also adjust the visibility output to lower maintenance needs.

Application

Transportation:

◉At airports, visibility sensors are important for aircraft takeoff and landing. Low visibility weather, like fog or haze, can greatly impact the pilot’s view. The sensors can check visibility near the runway in real time. They can alert the tower and pilot when visibility drops below safe levels for takeoff and landing.

◉On highways, visibility sensors help traffic officials watch road conditions. In foggy weather, you can see less. This can lead to lower speed limits and a higher chance of accidents. The sensors send visibility data to the traffic command center.

This center can send alerts to drivers. These alerts show speed limits and safe distances to keep. They are shown using variable message signs (VMS).

Meteorological monitoring:

◉Visibility sensors are often used by weather stations. They collect data about the atmosphere’s optical properties. Visibility is an important part of weather observation.

It is closely linked to aerosols and water vapor in the air. By watching changes in visibility over time, meteorologists can learn how weather systems grow. For instance, visibility can change a lot when fog forms or clears.

◉In climate research, data from visibility sensors shows long-term trends in the atmosphere. As cities grow and industries expand, pollution can make it harder to see.

By looking at visibility data from many years, we can learn about changes in air particles. This is important for understanding climate change. It shows how people’s actions impact the climate.

Environmental monitoring:

◉Visibility is closely linked to air quality. Scientists and environmental monitors can use visibility sensors to help track air quality. Changes in pollutants such as PM2.5, PM10, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides can affect visibility.
