Description

CDT-1T5B Dissolved CO2 Sensor

The Dissolved CO₂ Sensor is a gas detection module that operates based on the NDIR (Non – Dispersive Infrared) absorption principle. Specifically, it is well – suited for detecting the carbon dioxide concentration in an aqueous solution. Moreover, it features an optical cavity with a patent – designed structure.

The imported light source and dual – channel detector work together to realize spatial double – path reference compensation. As a result, this setup exhibits good selectivity, is free from oxygen dependence, and has a long lifespan.

Application

Aquaculture:

◉In aquaculture ponds, Dissolved CO₂ sensors play a key role. Carbon dioxide is produced by respiration of aquatic organisms and the decomposition of organic matter in the water. For example, in high-density fish farming environments, too much dissolved carbon dioxide can cause breathing difficulties for fish, affecting their growth and health.

◉Changes in the concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide affect the pH (pH) of the water body. This is not just a general phenomenon; notably, in the seawater environment where some shrimp and crabs are farmed, the right pH is critical for their molting and growth.

Environmental monitoring:

◉In the monitoring of surface water bodies like rivers and lakes, we use dissolved carbon dioxide sensors to assess the ecological health of these water bodies. Significantly, the concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide in water is closely related to the photosynthesis and respiration of aquatic plants.

◉In the Marine environment, dissolved carbon dioxide sensors are of great significance for the study of ocean acidification and other problems. Notably, as the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere rises, the ocean absorbs a large amount of carbon dioxide, resulting in a decrease in the pH of seawater, which is the phenomenon of ocean acidification.

Chemical and pharmaceutical industries:

◉In chemical production and pharmaceutical processes, many chemical reactions involve the production or consumption of carbon dioxide. We can install dissolved carbon dioxide sensors in equipment such as reactors to monitor changes in carbon dioxide during the reaction process in real time.
