Description
CDT-10B Water Temperature Sensor
Water temperature PT100 sensor is a very important temperature measuring device. It works on platinum resistance characteristics. To be specific, at 0 °C, its resistance is 100 ohms precisely and changes linearly with water temperature. Additionally, the common three-wire connection method can effectively reduce the measurement error caused by lead resistance.
Design structure
The PT100 sensor takes advantage of the fact that the resistance value of the platinum resistor changes with temperature to measure temperature. At 0℃, the resistance value of PT100 is 100 ohms, and the resistance value has an approximate linear relationship with the temperature change, the temperature increases, the temperature decreases, the resistance value decreases.
Easy installation
Installation location selection: For measuring water temperature, choose a location that represents the true temperature of the water body. We should avoid installing it near the entrance of the heating or cooling device in the tank or pool, because the temperature at these locations may not reflect the overall water temperature. We had better locate it in the central area of the water body or where there is good water circulation.
Insertion depth: The insertion depth of the sensor should be appropriate. It is generally recommended that the depth of insertion be at least 2/3 of the length of the sensor probe to ensure that the probe is in sufficient contact with the water to obtain an accurate temperature reading. For example, for a PT100 sensor with a probe length of 100mm, the insertion depth should be at least 60-70mm
