Application
Meteorological monitoring:
◉In weather station, piezoelectric rainfall sensor is the key equipment for measuring precipitation. It can accurately measure the intensity and accumulation of rainfall. For example, at the national network of basic weather stations, we install these sensors in open fields to collect rainfall data in real time. When a raindrop hits the sensor’s sensing element, it creates a small pressure change. The sensor then converts this pressure change into an electrical signal, and the data acquisition system records this signal.
◉Automatic weather stations are widely used in remote areas and unattended meteorological monitoring points. Piezoelectric rain gauge sensors play a key role in these automatic weather stations. Due to its high precision and low maintenance requirements, it can work stably for a long time. The rainfall data collected by the sensor can be transmitted to the meteorological center in real time through wireless communication technology (such as GPRS, satellite communication, etc.).
Hydrologic monitoring:
◉Precipitation is one of the key factors affecting the water level of rivers and lakes. We install piezoelectric rainfall sensors at key locations in the basin to monitor rainfall in real time. Then, we combine these data with river hydrological models to predict changes in river and lake water levels.
◉Accurate rainfall monitoring is essential for the rational utilization and allocation of water resources. Piezoelectric rain sensors can provide rainfall data to water management authorities to help them assess water replenishment.
Agricultural field:
◉In agricultural production, accurate rainfall measurements are critical to irrigation decisions. We install piezoelectric rain harvesters in the field, and they can inform farmers about the rain in real time.
◉Researchers can use data from piezoelectric rain sensors to study the effects of rainfall on crop growth. Different crops have different requirements for rainfall at different stages of growth.
