CDT-16B SOIL MATRIC POTENTIAL SENSOR
Overview
CDT-16B is made to measure soil water potential. This potential shows how much energy water has in the soil. It depends on factors such as gravitational potential, matric potential, and osmotic potential. The sensor works using different physical principles.
For example, some sensors look at the link between water content and the soil’s electrical conductivity or dielectric constant. As the water content changes, the electrical properties change as well. The sensor can turn these changes into signals to measure soil water potential.
