Description

CDG-17B Scattering Radiometer

The Scattering radiometer by composing it of a Pyranometer and a shielding ring. The shielding ring aims to block the sun’s direct radiation from sunrise to sunset. We construct the shielding ring with a shielding part, a ruler, an adjusting screw, a bracket and a chassis. The width of the shielding ring is 65mm and its diameter is 400mm.

We fix the shielding ring on the screw rod adjustment spiral of the ruler, on which the latitude scale and declination scale are engraved. Should fix the ruler and bracket on the chassis according to the geographical latitude of the location.Meteorological stations and scientific research departments can widely apply it to continuously measure the scattered radiation intensity of the sky.

Application

Atmospheric scientific research:

◉It is a key tool for the study of atmospheric radiative transport processes. By measuring the scattered radiation at different heights and angles, combined with the information of atmospheric composition (such as gas molecules, aerosols, clouds), the atmospheric radiation transfer model can be established. These models can help scientists better understand the propagation, absorption and scattering of solar radiation in the atmosphere.

Aair quality monitoring:

◉One can use scatter radiometers as part of an air quality monitoring network to assist in monitoring particulate matter pollution in the atmosphere. Because particulate matter scatters light, the change of scattered radiation intensity can indirectly reflect the change of particulate matter concentration.

Oceanography research:

◉At the surface of the ocean, scattering radiometers measure the scattering properties of light in seawater. This is very important for the study of the optical properties of the ocean, such as the transparency of the sea water, attenuation coefficient and so on. By analyzing scattered radiation, it is possible to understand the distribution and concentration of suspended particulates (such as sediment and plankton) in the ocean.
